Road Trip USA

The Grand Canyon
The Grand Canyon

It’s only been a few days back in the States, but I’ve been happily embracing all that is America at it’s best – the Grand Canyon’s splendor, the Hoover Dam’s enormity, Vegas’s insanity – and worst – LA newscasters and their ridiculous work attire, for instance.

And it’s funny, the little things that get me excited, like getting ice water with my meals at restaurants and having my iPhone back in action. Ah, the daily conveniences!

Over and over, I am so glad we opted to drive cross country allowing me to experience the unbelievably incredible sites and kitsch and natural wonders of my own country.

  1. What route are you taking back across the US? Passing through the southeast and the Smokies at all?

we will be! but I don’t think we’ll be in atlanta – current plan is to go through tennessee and then up the Blue Ridge Parkway. Miss you!

      • I’m not in ATL – I’m in Knoxville. Are you guys taking 40 across? You’ll pass right through here on the way to the smokies. Give me a call.

“But our trip was different. It was a classic affirmation of everything right and true and decent in the national character. It was a gross, physical salute to the fantastic possibilities of life in this country-but only for those with true grit. And we were chock full of that.” – Hunter S. Thompson

“I stole my sister’s boyfriend. It was all whirlwind, heat and flash. Within a week we killed my parents and hit the road.” – Sonic Youth

  3. I love that you guys are roadtripping it back to the east coast. Something I’d love to do at some point… looking forward to following along.
